WordPress: How to list child pages using a shortcode
We've rebuilt the site hierarchy for several of our WordPress clients, and one of the things we're trying to do is organize information efficiently. To do this, we often want to create a master page and include a menu that automatically lists the pages below it. List of child pages or subpages.
Unfortunately, there is no custom function or functionality within WordPress, so we developed a shortcode to add to the client site. Here's how you can use a shortcode with all its variables populated in a WordPress post or page:
Paste this shortcode directly into the content area of the WordPress post or page where you want the list of child pages to appear. Be sure to adjust the values of each attribute to match the design and structure of your WordPress site.

Additionally, if you want a short snippet describing each page, the plugin will enable page snippets so you can edit the content in the page settings.

This feature is useful for dynamically listing subpages on a parent page, improving navigation and organization within a WordPress site. I recommend adding it to your own plugin if you want to add it to your WordPress site. Or… you can download the plugin I posted.
